Holy Tornado...Almost

So I am completely terrified of this weather here in Missouri. Im not sure how to deal with these storms, or how seriously to take them.  Well, last night I took it very seriously.  All day yesterday they were saying that a bad storm was coming and to get prepared.  The storm was producing tornadoes and BASEBALL sized hail!  So we live in a mobile home.  Yeah think what you want but were renters and its actually very nice :)  Anywho.  So we live in a mobile and im not sure if you have ever read the "What to do if a tornado warning has been issued" handbook, but apparently it reads as follows:

In a Mobile Home

  • Leave your mobile home immediately and take shelter elsewhere.

Thats literally all it says.  REALLY???!!!!  That means you have no chance if you're in a mobile home!! haha.  So i emailed our landlords (who literally live a football field away from us)  And he said we could come hunker down in his basement if the storm got bad.
I watched the weather all day and by 10:30pm I has a bag packed the girls in their car seats and was ready to head to the neighbors house...by this point my husband was thuroughly ticked off at my "freaking out over nothing" and a tornado watch was in effect.

By 11 I had emailed my landlord telling him we were headed on over and he turned on his porch light for us :)  We grabbed the dogs and the kids and ran up the hill...Not 2 minutes after we got there the tornado sirens started blairing and we headed into the basement.

We got hit HARD by this storm...thankfully there wasn't a tornado near us but there were 60+ mph winds heavy rain, crazy lightning and just overall bad.  Needless to say Nick wasn't very happy that we went over there for "nothing" and that he could have been asleep.  But I am happy to know that had something devastating happened my family would have been safe.  All this means to me is that we need a basement!!  BAD! HaHa.  Anyway, were all safe and we missed the almost tornado :)

DISCLAIMER:  Don't mind me blabbing in the videos...i have a tendency to do so, and I always sound weird...

And to brighten this post and your day (as it did mine)  here is Rylie...squealing hehe

    Cloth Diapering

So I am....excited to say the least.  I have made the decision to cloth diaper my now 3 and a half month old girlies!  I am very excited about my decision, as is my husband (mainly for the money savings)  I have also decided to go with Sun Baby diapers where I can actually afford the amount that I need!!  Sun Baby found here are what people of the CD world call "pocket" diapers.  They have a removable insert that goes between the outer "cover" of the diaper and a fleece lining that goes against baby's skin.  I ordered 20 diapers with 40 inserts (makes it easy to use for overnight because you can double up!)  Honestly, I am so excited I could squeal!!  I will update once they come!!!

    Lost in my own head

Ugh...That is all I can say!  UGH!!!  Okay glad I got that out!!  I feel soooo overwhelmed with my own  thoughts...should I do this or that, go here or there, buy or save, clean house or hold a baby, sleep or shower...seriously its endless the things I waiver between.

We are getting our tax refund backin a few days and let me tell you...having two babies in one year will leave you with one hell of a pay check from the government!  We will, for the first time since being together, be 100% DEBT FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Thank you Jesus!  haha but really I am so out of my mond happy to no longer be in debt of anything!  Which I believe are where my racing thoughts begin.

First off, we need a more child friendly vehicle.  We have 2 trucks right now, a pick up with 2 doors and a back bench seatand a bronco with two doors and a bench seat.  I worry about once theyre in car seats that stay in the car...how will I buckle them?  So if we buy a vehicle, we will be in debt again, and will pretty much lose the $400 a month that we are saving  by paying everything off!  See, dilemma #1

Number two is what we will do with the money left over?  Spend it and if so how much, on what, we need to make it count.  save it and if so how much for how long and what are the stipulations on using it.  UGH!!!!

There is just so much going on that I am about to explode!!  It feels good to vent, and although it seems like I am cutting this postshort...well I am because the girls are hungry :)  Thank God for them!  Without them I would be a disaster!!!

    Worlds worst mommy

So I just had a worlds worst mommy moment.  I was giving the girls their night time bottles and both girls would suck for a minute then start screaming!!  This happened for about 10 minutes before I thought "hey they are obviously over tired so I wont try to force it on them"  so 5 minutes of soothing two crying babies I gave them their bottles back.  Again with the sucking and screaming!!  Finally i thought that maybe the flow was too slow for them, so (I use drop ins) I push up on the bag and NOTHING COMES OUT.  I quickly grabbed the second bottle...SAME THING!!! Oooh I felt so bad!!  I had two crying starving babies and mommy was teasing them!!!  Poor things, once I fixed the nipples (which by the way I have no clue as to why they were clogged, I dont add rice or anything...) they didnt trust me and wouldnt take the bottles, I had to squirt milk on the inside of their cheeks to get them to take them...man do I feel bad!  Now they are both full and asleep!!  Which is my cue to go to bed too!!

    3 MONTHS!!!

I can not believe that Rylie and Laramie are 3 months old already!  Its crazy how fast time flies!!  They are already weighing in at around 12 pounds for Laramie and 13 pounds for Rylie!!  They can both sit on their own (when placed) for about 20 seconds, they both roll over both ways, they have amazing head control, AND they have started sleeping through the night!!  I am so proud of my little boogers!!

I have been trying so hard to keep them off their backs and on their tummies or holding them or whatever I have to do so they dont get flat heads, but they both have little bald patches and slightly flat heads!!! ugh I dont know what else I could do!!!  It is definitely frustrating!  I have accepted the fact that sense I have two babies, a little flat head is okay!!

Nick has been gone on a training Mission in Arkansas for the past 3 weeks and let me tell you, it is seriously trying when you have NO back up for three weeks!!!!!  I am hanging on by a thread and to top it off, we just had a huge storm that I wasnt prepared for, and so I have been stuck at our house with NO FOOD for the past WEEK!!  I am ready to pull all my hair out.

Well, I guess I will leave you with the fun part...baby pictures!!!

    Ice Storms

So for those of you who live under a rock...a huge storm has it the eastern 3/4 of the US.  Well, Missouri got hit pretty hard!  Thank the lord we didnt lose power, but we are currently unable to make it out of our driveway.  You see, we live in the hills in Missouri, and the driveway is about 200 yards from bottom to top, oh yeah and its at about a 6 degree slant, for those of you who are unsure....thats a lot!!!

So currently the weather is as follows:  Sunny, tempeture -3  feels like -3!

Awesome!!  I am not looking forward to taking the dogs out thats a given!!  Anyway, last time it snowed this is what we did....
Rylie on Left Laramie on right
Obviously I cant do the "self portrait" thing

We took the girls out for their first outdoor event (that didnt include their car seats!!)  They werent too sure, ad I fell down...While holding Rylie, but she was fine I slid on my butt and she didnt cry or anything :)  Well I ought to take the dogs out (they gotta go even in -3!!)  I have another update that I will do in a bit!
